Before you start a checklist of what to clean, let’s start by clearing out all of that unnecessary clutter. To start, gather anything that is broken, hasn’t been used in over 6 months, or something that you have multiple of. This will make it much easier to start cleaning your home when there isn’t clutter everywhere. Imagine trying to vacuum your floors without the massive amount of items scattered around the floor. Fall Cleaning Checklist

The clutter has been removed and now it’s time for the Fall cleaning to commence! To help kick it off, 331 Junk has put together a checklist to help you stay on track and not miss anything important.

Kitchen

The kitchen probably gets the most usage out of any home so it’s important it receives a deep clean. First, let’s start by wiping down the counters, cabinets, and pantry. It also helps to keep everything organized in an orderly manner. This includes silverware, plates, and other pieces that are often used.

Once the small things are taken care of, move on to the appliances that are used daily. The microwave, dishwasher, and coffee maker are a few appliances that can often be forgotten about. The refrigerator might have some old, forgotten items stuck in the back that might be expired and have started to produce an odor.

Laundry Room

While the laundry room is a place where items go to get cleaned when was the last time the room itself has been cleaned? Cleaning your washer and dryer makes them run much more efficiently and can also cut down on the chance of a fire starting. It’s also smart to check the dryer vent and soap dispensers as well.

Once you’ve cleaned the appliances, it’s a good idea to wipe them behind and underneath. Organize all of your cleaning products to help reduce stress and clutter.

Bathroom

The bathroom is home to lots of different products and because of this, it can lead to lots of clutter. Start by emptying your cabinets and drawers, getting rid of any products that haven’t been used in a long time. Remove expired medications and anything else that may be expired.

Once you’ve removed all of those items, it’s time to get down to the nitty-gritty. The bathroom has lots of appliances that can get dirty quickly. Start by wiping down and scrubbing the toilet, bathtub, and sink. The showerhead is also something that can get forgotten about since it’s up and out of the way.

Living Room

The living room is a place meant for unwinding after a long day, but this can often be hard to do when the space is cluttered and untidy. Fall cleaning your living room will give your living room the facelift it deserves and create a much more stress-free environment. Focus on the big items first, like the couch. Lots of items and crumbs can often get lost under the couch, so pulling it out and vacuuming is often the best place to start.

If there is a carpet or rug in the living room, it helps to give that a good deep clean since lots of dirt and other things can get stuck inside the fibers. It also helps to wipe down the TV and other electronics since they often get touched by multiple people. Lastly, organize any miscellaneous toys and small items that can be left around.
